#InstaKC Captures: Museum at Prairiefire

February 22, 2017

#InstaKC Captures is a blog series that highlights some of the most photogenic sights in Kansas City. From iconic monuments to lesser known gems, we tour the city in search of some of the best places to take a snapshot.

This week, we're adding #VisitOP to our #InstaKC Captures series as we visit the Museum at Prairiefire, a stunning architectural achievement in Overland Park and one of the most striking sights in the entire metro.

Inside this impressive structure you'll find entire worlds of discovery, from the world's largest dinosaurs to animal homes to a look at life under the sea.

Perfect for young and old and everyone in between, the Museum at Prairiefire is brimming with Instagram opportunities—making it an attraction not to be missed.

Human for Scale

You don't have to be a paleontologist or even have seen Jurassic Park to truly appreciate the size of the T-Rex stationed in the Great Hall of this museum.

The skeletal cast that greets visitors came from the first Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered—and is only one of three in the entire world.

Every Detail Considered

It doesn't take long walking around the Museum at Prairiefire to appreciate the detail and consideration that went into every bit of the structure's design.

Outdoors and in, you'll find that a little exploration goes a long way when it comes to snagging a great shot at this Overland Park attraction.
